01 · The blind spot

The data is already there. The view isn’t.

Meters like the PowerLogic PM8000 and ION9000 are full power-quality instruments. They log harmonics, capture high-speed waveforms and timestamp every disturbance. The problem is that all of this lives on the device, viewable only from the device, behind a small screen in a switch room. If you have PQ metering without a head-end, the data is being recorded, but nobody can see it, compare it across the estate, or act on it.

02 · The head-end

A platform that turns readings into decisions.

A head-end connects your meters to a single platform that collects, stores and visualises power-quality data across the whole site. Technik deploys EcoStruxure Power Monitoring Expert, Schneider Electric’s power-management software, to do exactly that: aggregate every meter, correlate events across devices, and turn raw measurements into clear dashboards and reports.

03 · Did it threaten your equipment?

Every disturbance, scored against tolerance.

Not every voltage deviation matters. The ITIC / CBEMA curve is the industry reference for what IT and electronic equipment can ride through. Power Monitoring Expert plots every captured event against that curve, so you can see instantly whether a disturbance sat safely within tolerance, landed in the borderline band, or was severe enough to risk tripping or damaging connected equipment.

04 · Was it you, or the grid?

Point to where the disturbance came from.

When something dips, you want to know what caused it. Disturbance Direction Detection helps identify this for each event, the system indicates whether the disturbance originated upstream or downstream in relation to the meter. That means you stop guessing where the disturbance came from.

05 · Cycle by cycle

The signature behind every event.

When you want it, the detail is there. Full waveforms, phasor diagrams and harmonic spectra are captured for every recorded event, so you can pinpoint the precise signature behind a sag, swell, harmonic distortion or phase imbalance, rather than working from a single summary number.

06 · The whole estate

One live picture, incomer to load.

Individual events matter, but so does the live state of the network. Single-line diagrams show real-time power, voltage, current and harmonics from the main incomer down to each metering point, across the entire estate. Process areas, plant, HVAC and lighting, all in one view, so the people running the building can see how it is behaving right now.
