TopBraid Suite 4.3.0 Overview: - All - Enterprise Vocabulary Net - TopBraid Insight - TopBraid Live and EVN - TopBraid Composer - All Editions - TopBraid Composer - Standard and Maestro Editions - TopBraid Composer - Maestro Edition - SPIN and SPARQL Functions - SPARQLMotion - SPARQL Web Pages All - Feature: Turtle files can now be loaded directly from the web, assuming the mime type is correct. Enterprise Vocabulary Net - Feature: The EVN core functionality has been generalized into the TopBraid Teamwork Platform. This makes it comparably easy for SWP developers to create similar applications with features such as user management, change tracking and reviewing of working copies. A help page can be opened from TBC: Help > TopBraid Teamwork Platform Help. - Feature: Added "default" application for EVN: an editor for general RDFS/OWL Ontologies. - Feature: Added an SWP-based Event-Condition-Action rules engine, to perform side effects or additional updates after each edit on a graph. - Feature: It's now possible to link EVN Vocabularies to a SharePoint server, so that there is a list of documents with the matching keyword at the bottom of a Concept's page. There is also a drop down menu item under the Search form to find all matching documents for the results of the search. - Feature: "Add Import" has been changed to "Edit Imports", also allowing the removal of owl:imports. - Feature: Better error handling on invalid URLs in create vocabulary pages. - Feature: Added feature to automatically update a Solr index based on edits in EVN. - Feature: Added special named graphs of the form urn:x-evn-union:User that delivers the union of all EVN graphs that a given user has at least read access to. - Feature: Added global menu item to see all Deleted Resources. Deleted resource can be selected and then restored in Show History mode. - Feature: Added page to Create a Clone/Version for EVN vocabularies and other graphs. This can be used to branch off a version so that it can be imported and edited independently. - Feature: The options for the SDB type field are now displayed as drop down box, preventing errors. - Feature: Spell Checking page now contains deep hyperlinks into concepts with errors. - Change: File importer no longer automatically deletes triples with blank nodes: this was corrupting valid structures such as SPIN templates. If you need to import files with bnodes that cause problems in EVN or you don't want to expose, use manual pre-processing with tools such as TBC. - Change: Some constraint violations have been downgraded to warnings, allowing the user to save changes. - Bug fix: RDF file importer did not immediately commit prefixes, and after (TBC) restart they might have been lost. - Bug fix: Concept tree did not scale horizontally, i.e. in cases where there are tens of thousands of siblings under the same parent. Added cap of 10,000 children to prevent crashes. - Bug fix: Deleting a class did not automatically delete depending blank nodes, such as SPIN constraints. - Bug fix: Encoding issue of spell checking page. - Bug fix: Fixed errors in SKOS SPIN constraints S46A and S46B. - Bug fix: File import no longer deletes triples of owl:Ontology if the base URI is the same URI. - Bug fix: Improved stability of SDB connection while running in TBC (code was saving .sdb files unnecessarily). TopBraid Insight - Feature: New solution "TopBraid Life Science Insight" (TBI). TopBraid Live and EVN - Feature: Added new result set format application/sparql-results+json-simple to SPARQL end point and SPIN Template servlet. - Feature: SPIN Template servlet now also supports ASK templates. - Feature: Promoted the swpEdit servlet used by SWA forms to be an official feature, with its own documentation page (see TBC Help > TopBraid Live Integration). - Feature: Available Web Services listings now include ui:Services. - Bug fix: SPARQL end point HTML page used the wrong URL when used on TBL stand-alone. TopBraid Composer - All Editions - Feature: Added System menu, including a new item to refresh various registries (SPIN, SWP, SM) at once. - Feature: Improved base URI detection of Turtle files created outside of TopBraid. - Feature: Added preference to activate strict argument checking for SPIN functions (debugging aid). - Feature: SPARQL view's action to export results to file now also supports Turtle format. - Change: Dialogs for editing instances and creating SPIN template (and function) calls now display a warning dialog on unsaved changes. Template dialog can also no longer be closed on errors. - Bug fix: SPARQL view now tolerates empty lines in SELECT or ASK queries. - Bug fix: SPARQL view sometimes crashed if two or more CONSTRUCT queries were executed at once. TopBraid Composer - Standard and Maestro Editions - Bug fix: Deleting a prefix from an SDB did not always work. TopBraid Composer - Maestro Edition - Feature: Better error handling of XSD schema importer. - Feature: "Open with default application" now checks for missing default superclass inferences. - Bug fix: SPINMap editor did not set sourcePredicates correctly if function's arguments were not sp:arg1 etc. - Bug fix: SPINMap editor crashed when a class (upper box) was connected to a property via equals. SPIN and SPARQL functions - Feature: Added spin:TableDataProvider, spin:Column as a framework to describe the output of SELECT templates as stored reports. - Feature: New magic property search:result. - Feature: New magic property smf:splitTextFile to import large text-based data items. - Feature: spl:instanceOf optimized with a native implementation in Java. - Feature: Added spl:min and spl:max. - Feature: spl:relevantPropertyAtClass also handles owl:unionOf domains. - Feature: smf:trace can now specify the log level by prefixing the text with "INFO:", "ERROR:" or "WARN:" - Feature: Added spr:colWidth and spr:colType functions on SPR result set tables. - Feature: spif:parseDate now takes a third (optional) argument to specify the language. - Bug fix: SPIN RDF representation of UUID() function was mapping to fn:uuid() which did not work. SPARQLMotion - Feature: New module sml:PerformFacetedSearch. - Feature: New module sml:ValidateXMLAgainstXSD for XML Schema validation. - Feature: New module sml:ExportToJMS to send a message via JMS. - Feature: It is now possible to define new SM module types based on SPIN templates. See sml:ImportAndSplitTextFile for an example. - Feature: sml:ExportToSolrFields now accepts user name and password arguments. - Feature: sml:ExportToSolrFields now has an optional argument sml:useURIs that generates prefix-independent URIs. This is the recommended value for faceted search and other applications, but for "manual" use via SPARQLMotion it may be better to have qnames as output. - Feature: sml:ExportToTextFile now has sml:encoding argument, e.g. to specify UTF-8. - Bug fix: sml:ExportToSolrFields had problems with certain xsd:date/Time objects unless they were in UTC. - Bug fix: sml:ExportToSolrFields did not react on cancel button. - Bug fix: Clone modules in SM editor crashed due to concurrency issue. SPARQL Web Pages - Change: Any SWP view that shall be callable from the outside via the swp servlet must declare a property ui:responseType - either directly or indirectly via a superclass. Otherwise, the request will be rejected. This change may require adjustments to your own applications, although SWA has been adjusted to make the transition as smooth as possible. - Change: Any value of the variable ?this will now be automatically propagated into the ui:prototype of a called SWP element. Can also be manually set with ui:this. - Change: Old search gadgets deprecated, replaced with swa:FormSearchGadget and swa:GridSearchResultsGadget. The deprecated SWA classes will be removed after TopBraid 4.3. - Change: TBC's Model > Refresh global SWP graphs has been moved into System > Refresh TopBraid system registries. - Feature: New faceted search gadgets. This will use an optimized Solr index if present. Interoperates with the new SWA search framework: can be combined with any number of result viewers. - Feature: New Google Maps gadget, which can be combined with search. - Feature: New Extended Turtle file format *.ttlx creates much more readable and comparable SWP files. The Extended Turtle back-end converts SWP blank node trees to literals for saving, and then reconstructs the bnodes when the file gets loaded. The File > New > SWP/RDF file wizard now has .ttlx as one of its options. - Feature: New "object-oriented" model for SWP that makes it easier to attach behavior to classes. The properties ui:rule and ui:method can be used to "attach" SWP elements that have side effects (such as setting values) to classes. Likewise, ui:viewElement can point to helper views that render instances of tha class. The variable ?this is expected to point to instances of those classes only. Added built-in ui:Methods ui:setProperty, ui:addProperty, ui:removeProperty and ui:removeProperties for common use cases. - Feature: ui:Functions can be used to define SPIN functions. Added ui:return to specify result. - Feature: Added ui:handle to streamline typical event handling patterns. - Feature: Prepared SWA gadgets to work "embedded" into other HTML pages, see section 2.5 of SWA help and http://localhost:8083/tbl/lib/swadoc/embeddedSWADemo.html - Feature: Added mechanism and widgets to show and edit certain blank nodes as nested forms - mark the affected properties with swa:blankNodeProperty=true. - Feature: Added options arg:openable and arg:open to swa:ObjectsEnum and swa:ObjectsPlaceholder to make a form section open/closable. - Feature: Added swa:SwitchableFormGadget for editing resources. - Feature: Added swa:ClassPropertyTreeGadget. - Feature: swa:ClassTreeGadget, swa:InstancesGridGadget and swa:ClassPropertyTreeGadget now listen to changes and refresh automatically after edits. - Feature: Added arg:editable to swa:Class/ClassPropertyTreeGadgets and swa:InstancesGridGadget to have create buttons show up underneath. - Feature: swa:TreeDataProvider now has an optional argument arg:changeHandler to have it react on edits. - Feature: swa:FullScreenBorderLayout has an optional argument arg:deepLinkingEvent to implement "deep linking". - Feature: swa:ClassTreeGadget and swa:ClassPropertyTreeGadget automatically select a tree node on incoming events. - Feature: Added swon:Object. - Feature: swa:AutoComplete now has an option to host a drop down menu with items to select existing values from a dialog, or create new instances on the fly. - Feature: Added ui:loadOnDemand argument to ui:loadable. - Feature: Improved use cases of ui:insertionPoint for JSON or text generation: the engine will now walk into any generated DOM elements, allowing the creation of dummy parents as in swon:Object. - Feature: Added swa:RichTextViewer (generalized from EVN). - Feature: Added swa:AddPropertyBox to dynamically add other properties to search forms. - Feature: ui:dynamicView now also understands the argument ui:instance (a view instance, not class). - Feature: Added ui:dataView and ui:DataViews to associate a class with data-driven views for its instances. swa:DataViewsSection can be used to insert those views into a resource form (by default they show up in EVN forms). - Feature: swa:ResultSetGrid now uses spin:Column metadata to learn about column label, width and cell alignment. - Feature: swa:Objects and swa:Subjects now only show the first 50 values plus an indicator how many more exist. - Feature: SWP servlet calls may now return Turtle files based on the current graph when ui:return was called. You need to define a sub-class of ui:Services that has ui:Turtle as its ui:responseType. - Feature: Better coverage of new HTML 5 elements and attributes. - Feature: FormSearchGadget now has a global text search field on top. - Bug fix: Handling of ui:limit. - Bug fix: Misc bug fixes on swa:Subject(s). - Bug fix: swa:URIResourceTextFieldEditor did not encode its initial value correctly.
