Carrier Logistics and LSP44 target tracking failures with an AI-native API
Carrier Logistics and LSP44 announced a collaboration at Carrier Logistics' annual users conference to reduce the manual work created when LTL tracking requests arrive without clean tracking numbers.
The joint API matches shipment properties known by a shipper or 3PL against records in the carrier's TMS, resolving ambiguity without forcing customer-service teams to answer emails and calls. LSP44 supplies AI-native agent and API infrastructure around a logistics data graph and carrier network.
The proposed connection addresses a specific information handoff between brokers, shippers and motor carriers. If the matching logic is reliable, the operating effect is fewer intrusive status requests and more accurate customer visibility, but carrier-side data quality remains decisive.
The tracking-API proposition ties AI value to support-ticket volume, status accuracy and response latency rather than a generic chatbot metric; bad matches would instead increase service noise and claims risk.
Run the matcher against historical unknown-number cases, return confidence plus evidence, and route low-confidence shipments to carrier service staff.
LTL technology owners should measure unknown-tracking resolution before allowing automated customer updates.
